LocaPort is data compression technologies designed for geographic location data. LocaPort make route or area information into short text string.

Feature of LocaPort

● Simple and light algorithm
    Comfortable processing with slow CPU device such as mobile phone
● Enough compression efficiency
    About 10% to 20% size of latitude and longitude written in text
● On-the-fly Encode/Decode Capability
    Data can be encoded/decoded in order which is received, so receiving data and encoding/decoding process can run at the same time.
● Variable precisions capability.
    In single path data, locations of important points such as start point and destination are encoded with high resolution such as one meter precision, and other middle points are encoded with rough precision such as ten meters to save data size, in one encoded data.

  • Latitude/Longitude
  • Altitude
  • Date and Time
  • Radius or Width
  • Custom ID
    * To use custom ID, it needs to be issued from Locazing Inc.

 

Location Data Portability

Location Data Portability means the ability to share or exchange location information such as search area or route.

LocaPort makes easier to mash up among LBS, because complicated path are area information is transfer with only one text string. It may be encoded in 2-Dimensional Bar Code, so portable device can handle route information via printed device.

LBS was １ to N (point to neighborhood information), and it will be N to N(path/area to more selected information) for high value add services.
